What’s the deal with this Verification Form?

The Verification form tells the Scholarship Committee important information like where you are attending college and your identifying information at that college such as your email or student ID. These are used to verify that you are attending a MnACC member institution, and to help your school’s financial aid office know whose financial aid package the check should be applied to.

Why didn’t I get a scholarship?

A review committee reads all applicants’ essays and, when needed for the President’s Award and Distinguished Scholar Awards, also consider things like GPA, HS curriculum, and letters of recommendation. Keep in mind, there is no minimum GPA. The review committee places a big emphasis on the applicant’s essay and written interaction with the topic of choice. Every year we receive hundreds of excellent essays and well qualified applications for a limited number of scholarships.
